Packers Land 6-foot-3 CB Amid Shocking $48 Million Release
The Green Bay Packers have made a pair of significant moves at cornerback.

So the Packers made a couple of big moves with the cornerback position on Tuesday, signing former Chargers cornerback Benjamin St-Juste, while also releasing Nate Hobbs one year after signing him to a four-year, $48 million contract last spring.
Now, Hobbs played just 11 games with the Packers this year, had some injuries, wasn't really that great when he was on the field, but his release still comes as kind of a surprise considering that he was viewed as a pretty significant part of the Packers secondary heading into 2025.
But clearly, Brian Gutekunst and the Packers brass and Matt LaFleur and the coaching staff are not too happy with Hobbs' production.
Now, St-Juste had actually a pretty solid year with the Chargers as kind of a rotational piece this past year, but in his first four years with the Washington Commanders, he was one of the worst cover corners in the NFL.
But he's unique in that he's six foot three, has a really wiry frame, so he can contest those jump balls with bigger receivers on the field.
And because he had a strong year with the Chargers in 2025, at this time, he may be on an upward trajectory.
So could be a sneaky good move here by the Packers, but make no mistake, they still need to add some more corners, either in free agency or the NFL Draft this year.
Remember, they don't have a first-round pick, but it is a deep cornerback draft class.
They should be able to still add a pretty good player at the position on day two next month.
