Khamzat Chimaev left the Octagon without a post-fight interview after a split-decision loss to Sean Strickland in the UFC 328 main event at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday. In a brief social media statement, Khamzat Chimaev wrote “Sean Strickland see you soon again,” without clarifying whether he meant sparring or a rematch. UFC CEO Dana White said Chimaev told him after UFC 328 that he wants to move up and not fight in this weight class. Chimaev has previously hinted at 205 pounds, including callouts of former light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira, and appeared to endure a difficult cut. White said he is not yet considering a next opponent.
