MLB Injury Update: Lombard Jr. Faces Challenges on the Field

You know, certainly the Yankees have made a lot of headlines in terms of injuries this week.
George Lombard Jr., who, made his debut in one of the historic nights in baseball with him and his brother both homering in a Major League and a Minor League game, unfortunately defensively is now getting the comps from Anthony Volpe, who made six straight errors.
First time in 100 years or more that a Yankees, infielder did this.
And then, unfortunately, now we don't have the MRI results of, of what happened on Sunday, Tom.
And so for those of you who are watching and say, "Hey, we know," and you don't, it's not true.
We're just doing this at a certain time of the day.
He's right now day to day, but I'm gonna say, Tom, I'm gonna reserve the right to change my mind based on what I find out late Sunday night on, on, George Lombard Jr.
But this is like, you know, for me, this is tough.
Like, I know him and I know the family, and I hate to see this sort of stuff.
What, what do you make of what's going on here?
Is it anything further than just bad defense?
To me, it just seems like bad defense.
I know, you know, people immediately wanna have revisionist history and be like, "Oh, you know, we, we didn't like Volpe.
Call up this guy.
He's supposed to be better.
He comes in, you know, with el- electricity in his first game," and then, "Oh, what do you know?
He- it's back to errors."
Like, the, the grass isn't always greener.
Like, whatever cliche you wanna use.
It's like, I just think these are growing pains.
To me, this seems like a player who's played less than, what, 30 some odd games, 40 some odd games in the MLB, whatever it is.
He's going through some growing pains.
And if the knee is an issue and that's impacting him, that's what's causing a portion of the errors, okay, I can get behind that.
I would wanna know what the actual extent of the injury is, would, which to your point, we don't have the actual results as of now.
But to me, I just see this as growing pains.
It's gonna happen for young players.
It's a little bit of wonky, weird baseball history.
It, something hasn't happened in 100 years.
Sure, that's fine, but I don't see this as much more than that
