I was wondering what the value you see in former leaders of this program being able to have a voice.
Yeah, I'll start with Coach Manny.
I mean, I've, I've had the utmost respect for him, the job that he did here.
Uh, he had a great connection with our strength staff at Northwestern and, um, you know, it was funny.
He'd always come talk to me pregame and I thought he was distracting me.
I thought it was like a really good Jedi mind trick telling me how much he appreciated and respected us and then try to butter us up a little bit and then after the game he would do the same thing.
I'm joking obviously, but so known him for, for a while and just, um, you know, with, with, uh, Joel and and his, you know, appreciation and respect.
For those that have been here before us in that in that world, especially Ken, I mean the weight room should be named after him.
I can't believe that it's not already, uh, so that should be something that's done ASAP.
Uh, I think so highly of him.
I had him as our guest speaker at our staff retreat this summer.
Um, so that will tell you my feelings about coach and really thankful for him to be here and then, you know, I'm just grateful for my long-standing relationship with Coach D. You know, when you look at the run that he had here, you know, that's, that's .
That's the goal.
That's the destination that we want to get back to, uh, you know, and put ourselves in position to compete for a national championship.
You know, I, I, I have not shied away from what the expectations should be here.
It should be to compete and win Big 10 championships, get in the playoffs to win it all.
And if you don't believe that, then, you know, I told the team in the first meeting that you should leave, don't come back the next day .
And I don't care if people think I'm crazy.
I just think you got to work that way.
You got to believe it first, and they've been working hard.
