Padres' Michael King Follows Game 2 Start With Six-Out Save in NLDS Game 3

Michael King went from starter to closer for the San Diego Padres, getting six outs to lock down a 4-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 3 of the National League Division Series. Two days earlier he had started Game 2 and thrown five dominant innings. With Mason Miller on paternity leave and Adrian Morejon out with shoulder issues, San Diego gave King the final two innings of an elimination game. He is the only pitcher since 1969, when the save became an official stat, to start a postseason game and record a save of at least six outs within two days.
