Video Transcript
Everyone's got their leadership style, but I've really seen him blossom in that regard in this 3rd year.
Uh, you know, Brock is highly, highly intelligent, uh, highly intelligent football player.
He's such a natural player, instinctive player.
Um, some people were born to play football, and I think he was one of them.
I think he could put a blindfold on them and he could find a way to get open.
He just has such a great feel for space out there for his zone coverage.
He's got great relief, uh, great release plans versus man to man when they want to come down and press.
Um, but it all starts with the mental aspect like you're alluding to.
He's an extremely smart player, but he also puts in the work.
He studies, uh, all night, all morning.
He never steps on this , on the field with a, with a question.
He's got all his questions answered because he puts in the work, but he's a really intelligent person, so smart people that study end up doing pretty well, and, and he's no different.
Coach is the overall attitude.
Uh, I tell the guys all the time, we're, we're gonna lead from the front, you know, you can't call yourself a leader and be at the back of the line.
So we're trying to set the standard for this offense, uh, for this team, you know, that's the expectation.
Uh, I try to hold them to, and, and I try to have them hold me too, you know, we're all a group, we're all in this together.
It's about we and us, not I.
You hear our players say all the time, we don't care how many balls we catch, how many touchdowns we score, it's whatever.
We can do to help the team win and that's going to be our attitude and that's going to look different every single week.
Some weeks it is catching balls and scoring touchdowns, and sometimes it's blocking your tail off in the run game and pass protection, um, but we have a lot of humble guys in the room that are going to lead from the front and do what's asked of them and hopefully it leads to wins.
Would you say that Boss of the year, this offseason?
He really has, you know, everyone's got their leadership.
Style, but I've really seen him blossom in that regard in this 3rd year.
Um, another thing we talked about is being the best teammates on the team.
His teammates love him in the locker room.
Um, you know, he leads by example.
Uh, his work ethic out here is, is unmatched.
One of the hardest players I've, the hardest working players I've ever been around, and, uh, it's really been cool to see him take more steps in that, uh, that area, and I'm excited to see what he does from a leadership standpoint all season.
