Seattle Mariners Approaching Current Situation With 'No Egos'
Amidst injuries and roster shuffles, the Mariners are exemplifying an unselfish mindset.

Hey everyone, Taryn Kovach here with Roundtable Sports for a quick Seattle Mariners update.
So for those of you who missed it, the Mariners started off their six-game road trip, strongly on Tuesday, beating the Baltimore Orioles 3-1, despite a very, makeshift lineup, amidst a series of, of a lot of, injuries from the Mariners.
before the game, Randy Arozarena, who was expected to be out but available as a pinch hitter potentially, went on the IL due to a hamstring strain, with mild inflammation.
He isn't expected to miss a lot of time, but that injury forced the Mariners to do a series of moves, including not only, calling up Curtis Washington Jr. from the high A Everett Aquasox, but in addition to Arozarena's injury, Josh, Josh Naylor was also out due to wrist soreness and Miles Mastrobuoni had to play first.
after the game, starting pitcher Logan Gilbert, who threw, a 10-strikeout, seven-inning quality start in the win, talked about, no egos was a big, phrase for him and, Cal, Cal Raleigh, who returned for his first game in, over a month due to an oblique strain, also had to go ahead to RBI single in the bottom of the seventh, also concurred with that.
It seems like even with the Mariners', strain of injuries, the team is still holding firm, just accepting whatever role, they need to to help the team win, and that goes beyond just the injury side of things.
the Mariners' starting rotation also unanimously agreed to, go back to a piggybacking arrangement, except, unlike last time where it was exclusively Bryce Miller and Luis Castillo, now it will be every starting pitcher who rotates through it from now through the All-All-Star break, with a normal starting pitching day, four days in every fifth game or fifth day, it being a piggyback th- piggyback mindset.
So it seems like the Mariners are really just kind of adopting doing what they have to do to keep on winning, keep on pers- being very, unselfish.
And currently, the Mariners are in the driver's seat right now, in the American League West, 38-36 reco- record, one-and-a-half game, advantage over the Athletics for first place in the division.
So if they can keep this mindset and it yields results like the game against Baltimore, until it gets healthy, the Mariners could still find themselves, in control of their own destiny, so to speak.
