Seattle Mariners Starters Now Leading Major Leagues in Incredible Category

The Mariners starting rotation jumped to the front of baseball in strikeouts after Logan Gilbert's seven-inning quality start on Tuesday night.

Hey everyone, Tarin Kovach here with Round Table Sports for a quick Seattle Mariners update.

So the Mariners won the first of a six-game home stand against the Baltimore Orioles, or the first half against the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday, beating them three to one.

And a large part of that success was, the quality start from starting pitcher Logan Gilbert, who struck out 10, walked one, hit a batter, and allowed one earned run on two hits in seven innings pitched in Tuesday's win.

And his quality start also, bolstered the Mariners to the, top of the major leagues in a pretty impressive category.

the Mariners entered Tuesday's game with 400 strikeouts from the starting rotation, which ranked second in the major leagues.

The one team ahead of the Mariners was the two-time defending World Series champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers, who had 402 strikeouts from their starters entering Tuesday.

And, following Gilbert's 10 strikeout performance, that brought the Mariners season total to 410. the Dodgers starter in their respective, 1-0 win against the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday was Justin Wroblewski, who struck out five, bringing their total to 407.

And, for those of you who did the math after that, that, puts the Mariners, at the top of the majors in strikeouts from their starting rotation.

In addition to, Gilbert, who has, 92 strikeouts on the year, George Kirby has 74 strikeouts, Emerson Hancock has 75, Ryan Wu has 79, Luis Castillo has struck out 65, and Bryce Miller has struck out 36.

And, Kirby will have a chance to bolster that number even more in his start and help deliver the Mariners a series win in the process in game two of the series at 6:40 PM Pacific on Wednesday at T-Mobile Park.
