Team USA Gets Caitlin Clark at Her Best After Standout WNBA Run
Caitlin Clark is heading into her Team USA opportunity after putting together the strongest stretch of basketball of her WNBA career.

The Indiana Fever closed out their final game against the Connecticut Sun with a win, moving slightly ahead of the Atlanta Dream and into fourth place in the WNBA standings.
The victory also sent Indiana into the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup break, with the WNBA season paused from August 30th through September 18th.
Caitlin Clark, however, will remain on the court after earning a spot on the USA Basketball roster alongside Fever teammate Aliyah Boston for the tournament in Berlin.
Clark enters the international competition with tremendous momentum, and is currently playing the best basketball of her professional career.
Against Connecticut, she became the first player in WNBA history to record consecutive games with at least 30 points and 10 assists.
Clark has also recorded more 30-point, 10-assist games this season than every other player in WNBA history combined.
Her efficiency has improved as well.
Clark currently owns a career-best 60.8% true shooting percentage, while posting her best shooting numbers from both the field and three-point range since entering the league.
She ranks third in the WNBA in scoring at 22.5 points per game, and leads the league with 8.4 assists.
No player has previously led the league in assists while also ranking inside the top 10 in scoring.
Clark acknowledged her confidence after the Connecticut win, saying she probably feels better than ever in her career.
That confidence is particularly notable after she missed much of the 2025 season because of injury.
She returned to international competition with Team USA at the World Cup qualifying tournaments in Puerto Rico, where she won MVP after leading the team in total points and assists.
Now, Clark has taken another step forward.
Fever coach Stephanie White praised her recent form, saying her pace, passing, and scoring ability make her really, really fun to watch.
White will also be part of Team USA's coaching staff in Berlin, giving her a first-hand view of Clark's latest rise on the international stage.
