Team USA Names Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese Among FIBA World Cup Stars
Team USA's FIBA World Cup squad features WNBA stars Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, who will be among the key names representing the U.S. at the tournament.

Team USA begins its 2026 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup campaign Friday, September 4th in Berlin, opening Group A against China.
The tournament has also put the WNBA regular season on hold from August 31st through September 17th.
The US roster includes Indiana Fever stars Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston, Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers, and Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese.
Veterans Breanna Stewart, Chelsea Gray, and Napheesa Collier are also on the team, coached by Duke head coach Kara Lawson.
Clark enters the tournament averaging 22.5 points, 8.4 assists, and 3.9 rebounds for Indiana.
Boston is averaging 16.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, and three assists.
Reese is averaging 16.1 points and 12.8 rebounds, and recently set the WNBA record for most double doubles in a season.
Bueckers is averaging 20.6 points, 5.9 assists, and 4.1 rebounds for Dallas.
The roster combines younger stars with veterans who have extensive WNBA experience.
The group stage runs through September 7th, with the United States scheduled to face China, Italy, and Czechia.
Quarterfinal qualifying games are set for September 8th and 9th, followed by the quarterfinals on September 10th.
The semifinals are scheduled for September 12th, with the third place and championship games on September 13th.
Two roster changes came shortly before the tournament.
Four-time WNBA MVP A'ja Wilson and five-time All-Star Kelsey Plum were ruled out because of health reasons.
Washington Mystics players Sonja Petrin and Esukaki Iriafen were added to the team.
Iriafen is averaging 15.3 points and 9.4 rebounds for Washington, while Petrin is producing 16.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists.
Both now join Team USA for the World Cup.
Team USA has won nine of the last 12 FIBA Women's World Cups, including the previous four tournaments.
The Americans last won the event in 2022, extending their championship run to four straight titles.
With the WNBA paused, Clark, Reese, Bueckers, Boston, and the rest of Team USA now shift their attention to international competition.
The Americans begin against China on September 4th before facing Italy and Czechia in group play.
