Trent Williams Shares Calm Reassurance on Kyle Shanahan's Absence
Despite a jarring car accident sidelining their head coach, star tackle Trent Williams insists a veteran-led culture has the San Francisco 49ers operating on autopilot during recovery.

So I don't know if that's funny or if he just owned yourself.
But yeah, Dr. Seahawk, he actually, he actually was out there.

Curtis Rucker appears to be getting the first shot at quarterback three, with Adrian Martinez getting a few reps, too.
No surprise there at all, too.
Here's some interesting stuff here, and I thought it was interesting when Trent Williams spoke, at, at his press conference today, talking about that Raheem Morris is gonna be introducing more five-man fronts, and that's something that they were seeing a lot more last season.
So some early signs of the Raheem Morris effect on the defense, as the Niners are already toying with five-man fronts.
It should be no secret that's something they intend to do more, and Trent Williams and Warner talked openly about it after practice.
Some interesting combinations being thrown out there as the Niners begin to install those looks.
So that's good news, in my opinion, and here's why.
Last season, I, I don't wanna blame Robert Saleh for what happened with this defense.
Guys are injured.
They're falling all over the place, your best defenders injured.
The scheme is still very vanilla.
It's still very much cover three, rush four, hope for the best.
For me, this idea that they're toying around with new things, like five-man fronts and different looks with, with blitzes and different combinations, this is all good for you to start to work out now, obviously.
And if they're installing it today in day one, then it's obviously, obviously something that they wanna install all the way through and use as something that they're gonna use next year.
I thought it was interesting to hear these things because Williams and Warner were very upfront talking about that.
And then we've been wondering, what are the new wrinkles?
I think we expected the 49ers to blitz more.
How could they not?
Because they can't blitz less when they're at the bottom of the league.
But we wonder, hey, is this gonna be on the secondary side that's gonna see the bump?
These five-man fronts, designed to stop the run, possibly get another pass rusher on there, they can be used for different situations.
So I think it's interesting to hear them be as candid as they were talking about that, and then having this be on there because we've been wondering, what is Raheem Morris gonna do?
What's he gonna add, and is it all gonna be secondary?
Is it all gonna be blitzing?
Think this is an interesting wrinkle, and it, this is the type of stuff that I, I really wanna hear from, the players and, and, and people or, the people observing is, what new wrinkles are there?
