Yankees' Biggest Takeaways From Opening Win Over Giants are Very Obvious
Let's break down the most obvious takeaways from the New York Yankees ' season-opening win over the San Francisco Giants .

So the Yankees beat the Giants seven nothing in their season opener on Wednesday night, and just about everything went well for the Yankees in this game.
The only thing that didn't go well was Aaron Judge going O for five, and every other Yankees player in the lineup had a hit.
When you can score seven runs with Aaron Judge going hitless and not getting on base, you're in pretty good shape.
Now, obviously, the Yankees will need Judge to be Judge throughout the season, but the fact that they were able to do so much damage with him not hitting at all on Wednesday night is a very good sign.
Now, the biggest takeaways from this game, to me, th-that this pitching staff is gonna be nasty this year.
And Max Freed went six and two-thirds innings, didn't allow a run, just two hits, one walk, four strikeouts.
You know, Yankee fans are accustomed to this by now after seeing him last year.
But remember, Gerrit Cole wasn't there last year.
When Cole returns from injury this year, as well as Carlos Rodn, this Yankees rotation is probably going to be the best in baseball, assuming that Cole and Rodn are both healthy.
Because you have Freed, you have Cole, Rodn, you have Kim Schlittler.
Then, you know, whoever wins the five fight between Will Warren, Ryan Weathers, and Luis Gil, at this point it's probably Will Warren.
It's gonna be some rotation.
So that's, that's one thing, one, one big takeaway.
This r- This starting rotation is gonna be absolutely filthy in twenty twenty-six.
The next is the lineup is This lineup is deep.
Now I know, you know, going into the season on paper, you see some weak points, right?
But on Wednesday night, guys like Brian McMahon, Austin Wells, Jose Caballero, supposed, you know, weak links in the lineup, all produced.
Now it's just one game out of a hundred and sixty-two, but it was good to see it happen.
And, you know, across the board, you know, even with Judge not hitting, when you have guys like John Carlos Stanton a-and Cody Bellinger, Ben Rice, Jazz Chisholm, you have that kind of support, that's a deep lineup.
Now, for all the talk about how the Yankees lineup has lacked depth over the years, there's no such thing as a perfect lineup in baseball.
Not even the Dodgers have a perfect batting order.
So the Y- For the Yankees to have that kind of depth, i-it's, it's gonna be scary for opposing pitching staffs all year long.
And finally, John Carlos Stanton looked very good.
Two for four, had a bullet RBI single, looked great in spring training as well.
So for all the worry about him and his elbows going into this year, remember he said he couldn't even open a bag of chips when he was talking about it in spring training, he's fine.
I mean, he had a nine forty-four OPS and had twenty-four homers in half a season last year, had the historic playoff run in twenty twenty-four.
And that was Remember, his elbow's been bothering him, both elbows, for a couple of years now.
It's nothing This is nothing new for Stanton.
So he's learned how to manage.
So And really, you could argue he is the Yankees X-factor this year.
He, him, maybe Ben Rice, you could argue Chisholm as well, but that support for Judge is so important.
Having Stanton there, who's the Yankees second-best hitter when he's healthy, that's huge.
So great win for the Yankees.
Again, just one game out of a hundred and sixty-two, but I definitely like what I saw.
