Our Summer Resource Guide has activities and resources to help students stay curious, creative, and ready for the next school year.
- Instructional Services Resources
- Family Academy : in-person and virtual classes, workshops, webinars, and programs for families. This summer they will offer classes on co-parenting, a family orientation for FCPS, Lexia summer learning resources, loving solutions, story time, essential life skills, preparing your child for middle school, and more.

- Fairfax County Puzzle Hunt : Beginning Sunday, June 1 , puzzles that lead to a location in Fairfax County and additional clues toward the final puzzle. For more information, visit the hunt’s How to Play page.

- Adapted Sports and Recreation
- Social-Emotional Learning : five areas of knowledge and skill that are important for collaboration and perspective taking. Read some ideas for learning at home.

- Fairfax County Public Library Summer Reading Adventure : Children and adults can earn badges and win prizes by reading, listening to books, or completing activities. (June 11 to August 17).
- Children’s Summer Reading Festival at the Sherwood Regional Library on Saturday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. View all Fairfax County Public Library events .

- Volunteer Fairfax compiles opportunities for adults and young people to help serve their community.
- George Mason Space Exploration Center : A week-long adventure filled with space exploration, STEM challenges, and unforgettable learning experiences.
- The Children's Science Center, LAB Summer Camps : The Lab's camps offer kids in grades one through five an opportunity to explore STEM concepts in a fun, exciting way.
- Book It!: Earn a free personal-sized pizza and more for reading books. Visit participating website .
- Reading Rewards:Ten free play points for reading and filling out the Reading Rewards Calendar. Visit participating website .
- Scholastic:Through September 12, kids can visit the summer zone in Scholastic Home Base , a completely free digital destination which offers stories, characters, games, and a community of readers.
- Summer Reading Adventure: Free backpack for reading books from a select list (purchase required). Visit retailers website .

- Immunizations : Don't delay! Make sure your child is up to date on their
school required immunizations

- Visit the FCPS How to Submit Immunization Documents webpage for key steps to check your child's current immunization record and submit immunization documentation prior to the first day of school.
- Immunizations are available from your child’s healthcare provider, the Fairfax County Health Department, or other community resources. Visit our FCPS Immunization Resources webpage for information on immunization clinics and appointments.

Inova Cares Clinic for Families provides childhood immunizations for patients who qualify for Medicaid, FAMIS, Inova’s Financial Assistance Program, or are uninsured.

HealthWorks for Northern Virginia and Neighborhood Health also provide healthcare — including vaccinations — for children, families, and individuals, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
- Mental Health and Emergency Services information
- Virtual Mental Wellness Consultation : Available through Tuesday, August 5, the FCPS Office of Intervention and Prevention Services will offer virtual mental wellness consultations. Parents and students can schedule a 45-minute consultation with a school psychologist or school social worker by phone or videoconference.
- Virtual Therapy Sessions : Available to FCPS high school students at no cost to provide a safe space to address concerns.
- Youth Mental Health Services : Are available from the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB) to help your child succeed.
- Meal distribution sites are being coordinated and will be shared soon.
- Summer School : No-cost meals (breakfast and lunch) will be available for all FCPS students attending FCPS summer school programs.
