As to the rule about downgrading of the jumps is a real aberration of the IJS. The skaters are penalised twice : by the Technical Panel that down grades the jump and by the judges who must assign a negative GOE. This idea has created a lot of criticism and I can tell you that it has been discussed in Los Angeles and there will be an improvement for next year. I do not know exactly how the new rule will read but I hope it will make things a little better at least. What is sure is that . The beauty and the art of figure skating have been killed by the new system.
こちらも双方の了解を得て転載させていただきます。 The problem of downgrading the under rotated jumps is a very serious one..I wonder how can any one even envisage that a triple or quadruple jump, slightly under rotated can be considered as a failed double or triple and gets less points than the same triple or quadruple fully rotated by marred by a fall. A real aberration! I have been fighting against this rule since it was adopted. Let's hope that somebody will listen. My only wish that the ISU will finally accept the idea that the system must be revised, must be symplified and the scoring made understanble and open to the public.
I fully agree with your comments on secret judging. In my opinion, this was the worst decision taken by the ISU in the last one hundred years . But of course Ottavio Cinquanta, the ISU President, just wants to prevent any possible control on the judging to protect his image and that of the ISU. To me, it is just the opposite. Secret judging can only increase the feeling that it protects deals and miscunduct of a few dishonest judges. As to the random draw, you are right. The results could very depending on which judges have been drawn. This has been proven mathematically. And it is completely unfair to the skaters.
An event organizer must pay the costs of judges' transportation, accommodation, meals and a per diem, which works out to only about $25 a day per person

"I'd like to say they're better educated than the inexperienced ones in the past," Dore said. "I think we have better education now. We have more visual education. We have a seminar every summer that has 120 people in it."
