Peter Mattei was astounding. Can't believe it's his first Amfortas. Whole cast was good, but Mattei and Jonas Kaufmann were the standouts.
A truly stunning achievement by the Canadians, stage director Francois Girard and set designer Michael Levine, timeless, symbolic, and evocative. The production manages to hold your attention for its duration of 5 hours and 40 minutes (with two intermissions).
Thanks to Professor Joseph So! I hugely appreciate your kindness every time.
