On September 20th, the last day of travelling in Toyama Prefecture, I first travelled on JR West Himi Line between Himi Station and Takaoka Station.
Himi Line trains are served by Kiha 40 Series diesel train, belonging to Toyama Railyard and some of them having body liveries and interior decorations of "Ninja Hattori-kun" by Fujiko Fujio A, one of the most famous Japanese comic artist and born in Himi City. The one I rode on, Kiha 40-2135, had the livery.
I got off the train once at Amaharashi Station, the two stations after Himi, to photograph a train running along Amaharashi Coast against the Toyama Bay and Yoshitsune-iwa Rock. Where I photographed was the terrace of "Michi no Eki Amaharashi", a multi-function building as a souvenir store, cafe, and information counter for tourists, opened at April 25th, 2018.
15 minutes later, the train came from Takaoka Station. It was the other one having "Ninja Hattori-kun" body livery, Kiha 40-2090.
Coming back to Amaharashi Station, the train which I photographed also came back from Himi. While the train travelling, the announcement by Hattori-kun (voiced by Junko Hori) about view from the window and tourists attraction was performed as well as the regular ones.
Because I wanted to watch Toyama Bay from the train window and to photograph the train against the Bay, I have longed to travel by Himi Line. The announcement by Hattori-kun was really good. Michi no Eki Himi was my new find of photograph spot.
