Between May 22nd and 24th, I travelled to San-en Area in Aichi and Shizuoka Prefectures.
On the first day, I boarded Toyohashi Railway Atsumi Line between Shin-toyohashi Station, located next to Toyohashi Station on Tokaido Shinkansen, and Mikawa-tahara Station.
The former Tokyu 7200 Series has been in service since 2000 on Atsumi Line.
7200 Series had a characteristic-designed front called "Diamond Cut". It had been in service on Tokyu Toyoko, Mekama (present Meguro and Tokyu Tamagawa Lines), Oimachi, and Den-en-toshi Lines between 1967 and 2000. The carriages on Atsumi Line used to be in service on Mekama Line until the separation of the line into Meguro Line and Tokyu Tamagawa Line.
Each set has had a different flower body livery since 2013.
Among the ten sets, 1810F set "Chrysanthemum" consists of a carriage for spare parts and two carriages from Ueda Electric Railway.
Though its floor and seats were refurbished, I found a Tokyu-style sticker raising an alert for the emergency stop for passengers.
The 3-carriage 1800 Series on Atsumi Line reminds some railfans of Tokyu 7200 Series on Ikegami Line. The underground tunnel between Koike Station and Aichidaigakumae [Aichi University Toyohashi Campus] Station resembles that on Ikegami Line around Nagahara Station.
