　34 年前、万人がニューヨーク市において、核軍拡競争に終了を呼びかけて行進しました。当時、それは、米国史上最大の公衆の抗議行動でしたし、反核運動の成長力を反映していました。しかし冷戦が終わると、核兵器に関する国民の不安も終わってしまいました。抗議運動は世界中のほとんどの地域で蒸発してしまいました。---- 核の大惨事の危険性がこれまで以上に高くなっているにもかかわらずです。

Dear Tadami;

34 years ago, 1 million people marched in New York 

City to call for an end to the nuclear arms race. 

At the time, it was the biggest public protest in U.S. 

history and reflected the growing power of the anti-

nuke movement. But when the Cold War ended, so did

the public’s anxiety about nuclear weapons. The 

movement evaporated in most parts of the world -- 

even though the risk of a nuclear catastrophe is 

higher than ever.

We need to shatter public complacency and move 

people into action. And we think art is a hammer 

that can do exactly that.

That’s why I’m excited to announce our new crowd-

sourced #DemandZero campaign in partnership with 

the Creative Action Network, which aims to engage 

a new generation of artists in the fight to eliminate 

nuclear weapons.

See the amazing new designs we’ve received from 

artists around the world, and tell us which ones 

resonate most with you.

It’s time to break the mold. For decades, peace 

signs and sunflowers were the anti-nuke brand. 

But in 2016, these images don’t necessarily 

resonate. They’re symbols of a bygone era. And 

they reinforce the feeling that eliminating these 

weapons isn't realistic -- that we're chasing a 

pipe dream of the 60s -- which couldn't be further 

from the truth. This is a problem we can solve.

We’ve already received dozens of inspiring new 

designs calling for a world without nuclear weapons. 

Now we're opening it up to artists all around the 

world to contribute. And we’re making all of these 

images available for purchase online!
