In the outdoors, I explored Kamakura-Zushi and Izu-Kogen. See my "Notes of a Rambler" (2 and 3) for more details. It was quite instructive. The villa areas in Izu-Kogen are all spacious with large gardens and scenic spots with hot springs. The plateau is composed of two types of lava flows, one from the older strata of the Harai volcano and the other from the relatively newer strata of the Omuro volcano, 4,000 years ago. The cliffs of Tomido are as high as 150 m. The 200 m high plateau and the 70 m-90 m low coastal zone are filled with resort houses. It is said that many people move to this area.
