David’s Bridal now sells wedding dresses for your dog

( NewsNation ) — At David's Bridal, love is a four-legged word.
The bridal shop chain's new "Puppy Love" collection features its standard lineup of wedding dresses, tuxedos, button-ups and more — for your dog.

The collection also offers sweaters, bandanas and collars, with items ranging from $11 to $65, whether you intend to include them as your dog-of-honor, ring bearer, flower pup or just so they're dressed for furry photoshoots.
'Puppy Love' collection features dresses to match the bride
According to David's Bridal CEO Kelly Cook, the shop will alter its dresses to match the bride. And if you have a feline — the pieces can be sized for them, too.

Cook told NewsNation the response to the collection has been overwhelming.
"Wow is the best word I can describe," she said. "We knew that dogs were important, right? You know the old saying that says when you get up in the morning, you want to be the person your dog thinks you are."
It may be serving a major customer base. According to a 2023 survey by pet care marketplace Rover , 81% of pet parents who are currently engaged, or expecting to be soon, plan to include their pets on their wedding day, though around 45% of dog parents and 43% of cat parents follow through.
"Our brides want in their vision," Cook added. "That's the beauty of the modern wedding. It's like there are no rules any longer. It's all about the personalization and the customization from beginning to end for our modern brides."
