Amazon has become synonymous with online shopping, but the retail giant has humble roots — it started in a garage in 1994. (Yes, the internet existed back then.) Today, it's one of the most popular stops on the web for just about every product you can imagine. From Apple tech to home and lifestyle brands like Dyson, KitchenAid and Levi's, there isn't much you can't find — and often for a bargain. Speaking of deals, Amazon's highly anticipated Prime Day sale events take place biannually, allowing Amazon Prime members to scoop up even bigger discounts than usual. A Prime membership also includes perks like fast, free shipping and access to Amazon streaming content, as well as discounts at Whole Foods, which Amazon acquired in 2017.
Mark your calendars: The mega sales event will be a little earlier than usual this year.
Also on our shopping list: Yahoo reader-loved Hanes shorts for $13 and a set of ice cream-making mugs for less than $40.

Once you've placed your order, Amazon will send you emails with updates, including when your items are expected to arrive. You can also go to the "Returns & Orders" section of Amazon's site for a detailed overview of your past and present orders with tracking information.
Head to Amazon's "Returns & Orders" section to view your order history. From there, you can click "Return or replace items" for exchanges or returns (there will be a cutoff date listed, so be sure to submit your request while your order's still eligible).
By going to the "Account & Lists" section on Amazon's site, you'll be able to access your Amazon account information. Click "Your Addresses" to update your shipping address; you can add multiple addresses, delete old addresses and select which address you'd like to use as your default.
Amazon's "Returns & Orders" section includes an option to cancel items you've ordered that haven't shipped yet. Select "View or edit order," then "Cancel items" and check the boxes next to any items you'd like to cancel.
If you have an Amazon Prime account, you can learn all about the perks of being a member on Amazon's Prime Insider page. Prime-only discounts are among the best benefits that come with your membership, so while you're shopping, keep an eye out for member markdowns, which will be noted on eligible product pages. And come Prime Day? You'll have early access to many deals, so mark your calendar once the dates are announced!
