Ace Hardware Has a Rare Sale on Stihl Tools—Save on Chainsaws, Bar Kits, and More — Photo: BobVila.com Team

Cutting logs to stove length and clearing fallen limbs gets harder once snow hits the ground. Stihl rarely discounts its saws, but right now, Ace Hardware has gas and battery models up to $50 off. One standout is the Stihl Farm Boss MS 271 20-Inch Gas Chainsaw for $489.99 (was $539.99). The MS 271 earned Best Farm/Ranch in our tested guide of the best Stihl chainsaws . Its 50.2cc engine has enough power for a full day at the woodpile.

Ace's sale also includes smaller gas saws for limb cleanup and an MSA 80 battery kit for anyone who'd rather skip mixing fuel. Chaps, carrying cases, and replacement chains are discounted too, and the lowest-priced deal is the Stihl Large Chainsaw Carrying Case for $48.99 (was $69.99).

Match replacement bars and chains by saw model, pitch, gauge, and drive-link count—not bar length alone. Have an arborist assess large dead or overhead limbs before ice arrives; handheld chainsaws should stay below shoulder height.
