Review: Dope Snow Spartan Women's Jacket
Dope Snow completely cracked the code on modern mountain culture. What started as an underdog webshop run by brothers Emil and Linus Hellberg has turned into the inevitable: you'll see Dope gear in nearly every liftline across North America.
Enter the Spartan, Dope's attempt to deliver a retro skate aesthetics to the women's line without cutting corners on weatherproofing. We took the soft pink colorway out for a spin to see if the ride lives up to the silhouette.

What Dope Snow Says
The Dope Spartan Jacket sports a super clean and straightforward design, featuring a contrast waterproof front zipper and two zipped side pockets for all your essentials. With its all-in retro 'box' shape and adjustable bottom drawstring, the Spartan is all about combining throwback style with modern performance. Designed with 2-way stretch, this jacket ensures maximum mobility, letting you move freely whether you're carving through powder or throwing down in the park. The Spartan is perfect for those who appreciate a minimalist aesthetic but still demand a jacket that can do it all.

What Snowboarder Says
Let's be honest: women's snowboard outerwear has spent the better part of two decades trapped in the tyranny of the hourglass cut.
Too tight through the hips, restrictive across the shoulders, and impossible to layer under. Dope threw that playbook straight out the window with the Spartan.
The cut here is unapologetically boxy and slightly cropped, pulling straight from 90s streetwear. It offers a relaxed hang without forcing you to size up in a men's jacket to get proper mobility. Cinch the shock-cord hem tight at your waist, and it stays completely out of the way when you're bent down strapping into your bindings.
On the mountain, the zoned Fellex insulation (60g core, 40g sleeves) hits the sweet spot between a bulky puffy and a paper-thin shell. On mid-20s resort days, all you need underneath is a lightweight baselayer top. The contrast front zip with its chunky storm placket blocks howling ridge winds, and the 15k waterproofing handled damp, slushy chairlift rides without soaking through to the fill.
One detail worth noting: the underarm pit vents are wide open—no mesh backing inside. If you're hiking the park line or cooking on a sunny spring afternoon, they dump body heat fast. Just remember to pull the zips shut before you drop in.
Who's this jacket for?
The rider who wants throwback streetwear volume without drowning in a men's sizing. Park riders, and anyone who prefers built-in insulation over layers.
