You and I are mortals. We're not doing Lego build outs from scratch in our basement, getting featured on Instagram, or applying to any competitions. We're just buying the big ass 9,000-piece Death Star — or other Lego set from our favorite movie —and following the directions. As a Lego enthusiast , and more of a Tolkien fan, I don't mind if my coworkers spot my Rivendell set in the background on Zoom calls and instantly know I'm a Lord of the Rings diehard, but maybe the 9,000-piece Death Star isn't what you want displayed to your boss. (If you're the boss, I think the Death Star looming over your shoulder camera right is quite fitting.) That doesn't mean you can't show off the products of your hobby in your office.
Our Favorite Lego Sets in 2026:
There are tons of Lego sets that aren't tied to movie franchises and feel slightly more professional, if that's your vibe. There's a neat model of the London skyline for anglophiles. Another favorite of mine is the 3,091-piece Milky Way display. The Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton toes the line but, at over three feet long, your co-workers are bound to be impressed by it. Use it as an ice breaker and thank me later.
Lego The Milky Way
As an avid Lego builder, the galaxy is one of my personal favorite sets. Not only can you hang it up as wall art, but the mix of shapes used to create the image is unlike any I've built before.
Lego Tyrannosaurus Rex
Technically this set does have a movie tie-in, but if you don't display the Jurassic World tag or minifigures, you'll have a fossil-inspired set that looks like it could be in the American Museum of Natural History. Note that it's over three feet long from nose to tail when complete.
Lego Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera Building Kit
For the vintage film lover, this set recreates a strikingly realistic Polaroid camera—complete with a detailed viewfinder and a turnable “exposure dial.” It even includes Legoized photos you can load in and “print” with a press of the red shutter button.
Lego Starry Night
This set is notoriously hard to find (I should know, I spent hours trying to track it down last Christmas), but it's worth the extra effort. It's a 3D version of Van Gogh's painting that can be mounted on a wall after being built.
Lego Art Love
You've likely seen one of the famed Robert Indiana Love sculptures, as there are dozens of them scattered around the world. Now you can build a 10-inch version for your home. Each letter is built separately and then come together in the end.
Lego London Skyline
One way to commemorate a favorite city is by building an architecture set from the location. This Lego set showcases a London skyline, but there are also New York and Paris versions. Each includes famous landmarks in the city.
Lego Hokusai – The Great Wave
One of the most famous pieces of Japanese art is The Great Wave from Hokusai. This 3D version comes with accessories to hang it on the wall and the frame is included.
Lego The Insect Collection
These sets don't come with cloches, but if you're looking for suggestions, the butterfly, Chinese mantis, and Hercules beetle would look awesome under glass domes. Even without, these vibrant insects make a striking display.
Lego Mineral Collection
This brand-new set immediately went to the top of my wish list, as I love that the display stand can be connected or separated into three different pieces. The set includes a tangerine quartz, a purple amethyst, and more.
Lego Keith Haring Dancing Figures
Keith Haring's distinct cartoonish figures are fun to build and will add a piece of pop culture to your home. Display them in a line or scatter them on bookshelves to bring some whimsy to your decor.
Lego Leonardo da Vinci's Flying Machine
Da Vinci was truly ahead of his time, and his flying machine contraption is just one example. He designed it in the late 1400s, well before the Wright Brothers took to the skies. For the history buff, give a nod to the famous inventor with a Lego version on your desk.
Lego Lucky Bamboo
There's no need for a green thumb to keep this bamboo alive. Once you assemble this small set, you'll have a piece of foliage that can sit on your desk indefinitely. It even comes with a display stand.
