Something happens at a certain point in life where birds just… take over. One minute you are young and cool, and the next minute, you are standing at the window whispering, “what is that bird” like it personally matters. So when I saw this pink flamingo LEGO set, I immediately understood who it was for. Me. It is for me.

This 288-piece LEGO Creator Wild Animals set at Walmart is a 3-in-1 build, which means you can create a Flamingo, a Cockatoo, or an Axolotl using the same bricks. This feels chaotic in the best way because those are three very different personalities. You can only build one at a time, but honestly that just means you get to take it apart and start over when you need a little reset moment -- like taking a break from trying to figure out what bird is in your yard.

The Flamingo stands over 9 inches tall, has posable features like its head and legs, and looks surprisingly elegant for something made out of tiny plastic pieces. The Cockatoo has a rotating head, which I love because it feels very on brand for a bird that always looks like it is judging you. And then there is the Axolotl, which brings me to my next question. What is it with Axolotls? My granddaughter is obsessed with these weird little creatures, and I still do not fully understand them.

Here is a fun fact though. Axolotls can actually regenerate parts of their body , including limbs and even parts of their heart and brain. Which feels fake, but it is not. They are basically tiny magical creatures that look like they are smiling all the time.

One reviewer said, “We had a great time building the flamingo. She really got into building, and I didn’t even get a chance to help until bag number 3. It now has pride of place on her bookshelf.” Which feels right. This is one of those builds that turns into decor the second you finish it.

And honestly, that is the appeal. It is a little creative project, a little bird moment, and a very cute thing to put on a shelf once you are done -- which is exactly how these things get you.
