Carson Benge on Mets' win against the Yankees: "I stuck to my plan and did my job'
Mets top offensive prospect Carson Benge spoke about his performance in the team's 10-4 win over the Yankees. Benge also praised several veterans on the Mets who have helped mentor him.

How, how do you feel today?
I mean, I felt great.
Felt like I was on time with everything, you know?
Felt like I saw him well.
He had really good stuff, but I felt like I stuck to my plan and did my job.
Now, you're a couple of weeks into spring training.
Is there any part of your game that you feel has developed, either meta-mentally or mechanically?
I'd say more mentally than anything.
Just, you know, seeing how everyone goes about their business and different things like that.
I feel like that's been a big help to me in my game.
How difficult the transition is it for you going, seeing all these righties, lefty on lefty, or is it just kind of mindset more than anything else?
I mean, for me, I don't really care.
If he throw it in the zone, I'm gonna try and hit it, try my best to hit it.
So it doesn't really matter who's throwing.
I just look at it that way.
In, in terms of adjusting, not only just to big league pitching, but big league environment, are they-- any veterans that have helped you out, over the last few weeks?
definitely.
All of them, I'd say.
Everyone.
Tyrone Taylor, Soto, all the outfielders, even Simeon a lot.
But I'd say all those guys have been really kind to me.
How about Maniah with your chess game?
Has he developed that for you?
No, not at all.
He just keeps beating me.
