Cubs Climb To No. 7 In MLB's Latest Power Rankings
Despite a decimated pitching staff, the North Siders are surging forward by winning 12 of 16 games and placing No. 7 in MLB's latest power rankings.

What is up, Cubs fans?
And welcome back to Cubs Roundtable.
I'm Joey Polizzi, talking about all things Cubs.
And the Cubs are slowly moving up MLB.com's power rankings again.
After checking in at the number 10 spot in last week's edition, the Cubs have moved up three spots to the number seven spot in MLB's latest power rankings update.
The three-spot jump for the Cubs comes after a really good week for the Cubs in which they went six and one.
They swept the New York Mets in a four-game series, and then took two of three games from the Milwaukee Brewers in a series that not many people gave them a chance because the Brewers were throwing out their three best pitchers, Jakob Misiorowski, Kyle Harrison, Brandon Woodruff.
And the Cubs were rolling out Colin Ray, David Peterson, and was eventually Bryce Wilson.
But the Cubs, they, they held their own in that series.
David Peterson in the Cubs debut did pitch well, five and two third innings of two run ball, and Bryce Wilson threw four and one third shutout innings in that bulk reliever role on Sunday.
And the Cubs took two of three games from the Brewers.
And since going seven and 22 in that weird stretch in May slash early June, the Cubs have played much better baseball as of late.
They have won 12 of their last 16 games and have won four of their last five series.
Now the Cubs sit in the second spot in the National League wild card standings, and they have another upcoming tough stretch this week with three games against the Padres and three games against the Cardinals.
Both teams are trailing the Cubs by just a few games in the wild card standings, so a big week for the Cubs.
But the Cubs moving up three spots, much deserving after a really good week of baseball.
