The multi-year contract drama for soon-to-be 25-year-old running back Breece Hall is finally at an end, Kyle Dvorak.
A three-year, almost $46 million extension has been signed after years, seriously, it felt like, of trade rumors.
Breece Hall is officially back for the next several years in New York City.
He's officially back as the centerpiece of this offense.
Officially back as the centerpiece of an offense we don't expect to be very good in 2026.
So Breece Hall, a guy kinda always on the periphery of superstardom in fantasy football, what are realistic expectations for 2026?
Yeah, this is the first contract extension I can remember that actually makes me feel worse about a fantasy player's outlook, and I say that kind of in jest, 'cause we all knew he was gonna come back.
Once they tagged him, it was clear that they were just using that as an interim to a long-term deal.
Last, last year when they didn't trade him, it was clear that they had to keep him around or it would be a lost cause not trading him.
So I say that kind of in jest, but he is stuck on a team with a 5.5 win total.
That is among the four or five lowest teams in the NFL.
He's on a team that we expect to not only be losing a lot of games, but probably also not doing so while putting up good fantasy numbers really either, just as a team passing and rushing output on the total.
On the plus side, this confirms their complete commitment to him as their top overall running back.
I don't think there's any chance we have like a, a 1A, 1B with a Braelon Allen or Isaiah Davis.
It's gonna be the Breece Hall show.
Already in the past three years, he's 10th in the NFL in total touches.
I think over the next few years he could probably rise to top five in total touches.
They might not be the most effective touches, 'cause he's gonna be playing on a bad team, but should be enough to at least get him to high-end RB2 status in 2026.
Yeah, Breece has become almost underrated for his durability.
He's had some nicks and bruises along the way, but has not missed much time the past few seasons.
Coming off first, coming off his first 1,000-yard season, Breece Hall, a player we've always loved, hopefully ready to take a big step forward in 2026.
