On The Mets Pod, Joe DeMayo takes on a Mailbag question from a viewer about the idea of eventually moving A.J. Ewing to the top of the Mets batting order.

It's not broke, so don't fix it, but do you think Ewing, AJ Ewing, will be the leadoff batter eventually?
I do.
I think Carson Benge will turn into more power as he continues to develop.
I think there's still room for some physical development there.
Like, if you just look at his body type, you could clearly tell there's room to put on a little more weight.
And there's, there's just more potential that you could see him hitting more in the middle of your lineup.
AJ Ewing, I, I know that he's, he's in a bit of a cold stretch offensively right now.
Right.
But this is a guy that I am incredibly confident is gonna make contact at a high level.
He's gonna get on base at a high level.
He's gonna hit for average.
And we all know that from a speed standpoint, there's not gonna be many players in baseball that are faster than AJ Ewing.
So he's kind of your prototypical leadoff hitter.
Right now isn't the time to, to shake up with, l- like, Jim said, "Don't break what, what's working."
But I think when you think big picture and you think long-term, my vision is I see Carson Benge more in the middle-ish of the order, and AJ Ewing at the top as the catalyst in front of guys like Lindor and Soto, and who knows where Boba Shed is, and Car- And maybe Crawford becomes a factor one day.
Right.
And Carson Benge.
Right.
I think Ewing is built to be that table setter.
