Phillies Could Target Former First-Round Pick in Trade Deadline Coup
The Philadelphia Phillies may want to swing a trade for this former first-round pick.

So the Phillies are absolutely in need of outfield help, and one potential option for them could be Giants outfielder Helio Ramos.
Now, Ramos, the former first-round pick of the Giants, has not really materialized that the Giants had hoped.
Did make an All-Star team back in twenty twenty-three, but his last couple years have not been very good, including this season with a seven thirty-eight OPS.
Not terrible, but you know, pretty pedestrian, especially for a former first-rounder.
Now, for the Phillies, though, considering how bad their outfield is right now, Ramos would represent an upgrade for sure.
He'd help that lineup, and he might hit better in Citizens Bank Park, that's for sure.
So definitely an option for Philadelphia.
He's under team control through twenty twenty-nine.
I don't expect his price to be that high just because of the fact that he, he's not a good defender.
Again, has not really lived up to expectations as far as his hitting is concerned.
The Giants have made it clear that he is available, so they're trying to move him.
They probably won't expect a major return.
The Phillies could probably have Ramos if they really wanted him, and he actually could be one of the more realistic options for Philadelphia before August third.
I know, you know, Byron Bucks into Mike Trout are the guys that people want the Phillies to look at, and they may be, you know, checking around those guys with the Twins and the Angels respectively, but I'm just not sure how realistic either of those trades are, especially when both guys have no trade clauses.
So I think making a trade for Ramos would definitely be a much more probable scenario for Philadelphia
