This was expected, the Packers did attempt to resign Walker, at the start of free agency, but a deal did not progress, early this off-season and he ends up going to the Raiders, and that's why Brian Gutekunst had pivoted to, make a trade with the Indianapolis Colts, where he acquired linebacker Zaire Franklin.

So now the Packers defense at the inside linebacker position will keep young star Edgesn Cooper as their focal point, and they bring in a veteran in Zaire Franklin, who has some, experience.

he's over thirty years old.

He's been in the league for a while.

He'll be a leader for the Packers defense.

Green Bay has had the youngest roster in the NFL over the last few seasons, and it's clear this off-season that they've shifted after, three straight exits early in the playoffs to where they want to add some veteran presence to this team.

They know they need that leadership role in the locker room, and that is why they have added Franklin.

That's why they have added Javon Hargrave.

They're looking at these guys, that can impact not only on the field but in the locker room and help them to have a deeper run in the postseason.

While Walker was a talented player for the Packers, his price tag was simply out of their range, for the other needs that they needed to address, including the cornerback position, the defensive line, interior and off the edge.

So it made sense to, to let Walker go.

the former first-round pick now lands, with the Las Vegas Raiders.

He will, team up over there with his former college teammate Nakobe Dean.

And Green Bay will focus on, rounding out the rest of their defense.

They have made some impactful signings and moves so far this off-season.

But Brian Gutekunst's, work isn't done as the Packers still need to add as they look to be a Super Bowl contender in twenty twenty-six.
