Deception Point (Unabridged)Author: Dan BrownNarrator: Richard PoeUnabridged Fiction | Abridged edition availableAudio Length: 16 hours and 56 min.Got from audible.comReading speed:natural speed Recommendation rate:★★★Total Listening Time:187:22(Synopsis)In the midst of the presidential erection, when the point was NASA dissolution, which the organization of budget consumer without any outputs, the President announced that NASA has found a meteorite contains bug-like fossils. This is a clear hit for NASA and the President.Could the opponent make any counterattack?Could Rachel, an intelligent analyst of the White House, who was caught in the midst of the conspiracy regarding the meteorite, survive the crisis?(Review)This it the third book, which I heard of, written by Dan Brown. It was more exciting book than I expected. The concept of a meteoroid found under the Canadian glacier contains bug like fossils! It alone was enough for me to get excited. But other stories relating NASA was also very interesting for me; that its budget is far more bigger than educational budget and we should shift form space to education, or the NASA’s cost estimation is too loose that the space station at first estimated to be 8 million dollars are now costing more than 100 million dollars, and on and on.Every night when eating dinner, I talk to my husband about the progress of the story and we anticipated the further story.Robert Langdon is not in the story, but if you enjoyed last two books of Dan Brown, don’t miss this!

It took about one month to finish reading Times special double issue, issued 15,22 Aug.The main theme of it was "The making of Modern Asia", and it was very interesting.I didn't know much about Asian progress, besides Japan, it was very interesting to know how South Korea, China and Singapore have made their success. The articles were too exciting and it was difficult for me to control my eager to go on but read it carefully using dictionaries. It is already Friday, that I would buy next one next Tuesday.I hope next one is as interesting as this issue.****Study Log*****【Read】*Time: 0:20,Issued 15,22 Aug. 4p to 104/104p finished, at last!*The Magician's Nephew: 1:00 61p to 171/171p finished!*The Last Battle: 0:10 20p to 20/172p【Listen】* 1万語スーパーレベルボキャビル:0:40The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy 0:27 to 2:38/5:51【Write】* blog : ×【英検1級daily30日間集中ゼミ】×

The horse and his boy by C.S.Lewis (YL:7 words:49,226 Total words:6,872,190 Reading time:4.5 hours)(Synopsis)It is the story happened in the golden age of Narnia, when the High King Peter was on his throne.A little poor fisherman-boy named Shasta lived in a small village, far south in Calormen, on a little creek of the sea.One day, he was about to be sold to a rich man by his father. But at that night he ran from his father, under the instruction of a horse of the rich man.The horse was a talking horse from mysterious north land of Narnia. The two headed North to go to Narnia and adventure starts.(Review)This is the fifth book to be read in Narnia chronicles. The main character of the story is not a person from our world, but a poor fisherman boy and a talking horse from the world of Narnia. As a lover of animal-stories, I liked this book very much, and I think it is less preachy than other Narnia stories. The concept that "a poor family's boy was a pedigree of noble-birth" might seem to be little trite to grown-ups but it worth reading for youngs.

Apple announced new "iPOD nano".Looks and design follows previous iPOD, but it became pencil-thin. 2GB model came with \21,800 (without tax \20,672), when 4GB one came with \27,800 (without tax \26,476). Buttery runs for about 14 hours.Simultaneously, Apple released new iTunes 5 with streamlined design and new search bar.I had no intend to buy iPOD or to use iTunes because all of my sound resource are stored in wma. Changes in Japanese women's attitudes toward their careers.○Discrimination-Independence-Liberation-Gender-related jobs○economic causes○Women's educationTo Japanese girls, the most desired future used to be "to be a bride". At that time, working women retire according to marriage considered to be quite a favorable situation. But now a days, situation is changing and women's attitudes toward their careers are increasing in following three reasons.First: bad economic situation. On the centrally to Japan's high-growing economic era, Japan is now in a long recession. This causes the firing of employees, not only women but men. It means that if the husband was the only person who earns the money, the family could get in deep trouble. Thus women are more eager to work these days regarding economic causes.Second: more than 10 years have passed since the implementation of gender equal law.The law banned the discrimination between gender upon hiring and promoting, and many women are working in the positions, which are considered to be men's posts. This enables to promote women's profession, which could encourage other women to follow.Third: changing education scene. After the gender equal law, schools have also changed. For example, household techniques like cooking, washing and sewing used to be the subjects for girls, on the other hand, electrical techniques and wood crafts used to be the subjects for boys. But now a days, those subjects became selectable depends on individual favors, which are widening the minds of people. In conclusion, I would like to say that Japanese women's attitudes toward their career are increasing because of severe economic situation, change in the society and change of women's educations according to implementation of gender equal law. Again, challenging the writing for STEP1.Today, it took 25 minutes to write this essay.I think I have to keep 30minutes for writing, which means I have to do other sections very quickly.Differences between day schools and boarding schools.-Hobbies○Family time○communication○Social skills○Independence-ResponsibilitiesBoarding schools are major in Europe as good private school, on the other hand, it is rare in Japan. In this essay, I would like to contemplate differences between day schools and boarding schools.First, I think the students of day schools can learn how family should be hold, on the other hand, the students of boarding schools could achieve social skills. In other way, students of boarding schools are cut from families, which lead them to lack the chances to learn how should a family member behave according to their role and build the relationship between family members. Student of day schools are short in chance to learn how to behave themselves among big number of people from morning to night.Second, I think the students of day schools have much free time to extend their creativity, on the other hand, the students of boarding schools have no other place to go, and that could teach them patience. In contrary, I can say that the students of day schools have freedom to run away when they don't like school, which can lead them to be impatience. Disciplined boarding schools' students don't have much time to extend their creativity, and tend to be less creative than day schools' students. In conclusion, I think day schools and boarding schools have very different purpose. One is to let the students grow to good family member, and another is to let them grow to the disciplined independent people. (25min, 245 words)

Today, I challenged the writing topic of STEP 1.I didn't use the dictionary, so, sorry for poor vocabularies.Topic: How can sports contribute to world peace.Use three of following points. ( ○ are the points I used)○ Ambassadors○ Other cultures- Entertainment- Sportsmanship- Team work○ Society*******Thanks to world wide TV networks, world wide sports events, like Olympic games, soccer's world cup games and tennis tournaments are getting more and more heated.I think these events could contribute to world peace in order to deepen the understandings of other countries in following two reasons.First, TV programs broad casting the view of the place holding the game it self are good chances to introduce the other cultures to us.Watching the landscape outside the stadium or the way of supporters supporting their team will ignite the interest of viewers.Second, not only the player but also the supporters going abroad according to the big game could be the ambassadors to introduce their culture to other countries. It is new to my memory how the Japanese rural village influenced by hosting the African soccer team.In conclusion, I think sports could contribute to world peace because it could introduce foreign cultures to other countries, which could lead to mutual understandings in human society.(15min, 166 words)mmmmm… was it too short? Do I have to add one more reason to support the idea?
