The style of architecture in Morocco resembles to Spain; the house is build square around the courtyard which contains square pond. This picture is that of ruins of ancient hotel. It has now long closed and the courtyard is turned to dump yard. But as you can see the cloths hanging, someone must be living here. *If the picture is not showed, please click the title of today's entry.****Study Log*****【Read】*The Plains of Passage: 1:00 125/975p【Listen】*State of Fear: 1:10 to 13:02/18:07

Postmortemby Patricia Cornwell(YL:9 words:94,453 Total words:7,841,610 Reading time:7 hours)(Synopsis)This is the first book of well known "the medical examiner" series.Dr. Kay Scarpetta, Virginia's chef medical examiner, tries to find the strangler of young women within the battle with chauvinist officers. The difficult relation ship with the chauvinist police officer is well described and scientific approach to nail the culprit was exciting.(Review)To tell the truth, I have already read this book in Japanese about 10years a go. I think couple of latest books of the series are less interesting, but this first one is entertaining in every sense of the word.Nevertheless, after reading the "Lincoln Rhyme" series of Jeffery Deaver, the forensic methods of this book is rather obsolete.

The mammoth hunters(YL:9 words:292,091 Total words:7,747,157 Reading time:24 hours)(Synopsis)This is the third book of The Earth Children. After having very good time with Jondalar, Ayla started a journey with him. After few days of trip, they found the Others' camp. In their short stay, the people of the camp found Ayla's ability and good character and adopted her as the member. This book shows how Ayla live with the people of the Others.(Review)Contrary to the previous books, this is rather a romance novel for young adults. One of the men of the camp loved Ayla. As high school students, Ayla, Jondalar and the man seem not to know how to handle their feelings. It was some what smile-provoking to see them in turmoil of love affair.

何がすごいって、Helloより先にexcuse meからはじまり、次にDo you understand English? I would like to have some wine pleaseと言いました。英語ならCan I have one more wine pleaseと言うところですが、そこまで細かい表現は出来ませんでした。このワインを持ってきてもらった時に前の席の人がみそ汁をオーダーし損なっていたので、The gentleman here wants some miso-soup, please. と言ってみたところ、見事に前の席の男性にみそ汁が配られました(これはピンズラーで得た知識を総動員して応用して言ってみました)。これは初級編30時間をこなせば旅行英会話は本当に十分かもしれない。欠点は、ピンズラーメソッドでやると大変発音がよろしいので、相手がてっきりフランス語が出来るものと思いこんでバ~っとしゃべり始めちゃうことがあると言うことですね。まぁ、そういうときは落ち着いてI don't understand. Do you speak English?(フランス語で(^^)これもピンズラーに入ってる)とやればいいんですが。とにかく、とっても使えるピンズラー、このままフランス語初級編を購入してしまおうか、来年3月にあるかもしれないメキシコ出張に向けてスペイン語もやってみるべきか迷っちゃいますね。では!

To prepare for business trip to Morocco next week, I suddenly got in the mood of studying French, and I downloaded "Pimsleur Quick and Simple French for English Speakers" from Audible.com.It is amazingly well planned program and after finishing eight 30-minute lessons, I manage to do some French conversations! The method is to repeat after CD, modify and repeat, without using textbook or grammatical terms.Regarding the Japanese school system of studying English, it was just the technique of decrypting and encrypting the foreign language using grammar to the key. No way Japanese are not good at English conversation.****昨日と同じ内容を英語de日記の添削用に短く書き直してみました。ちょっとは洗練された?****Study Log*****【Read】*The Mammoth Hunters: 0:40 20p 574/723p*Financial Times: 0:30【Listen】*Pimsleur Quick and Simple French for English Speakers: 1:00
