TSUTAYA三軒茶屋店　30周年を前に賃貸借契約終了で閉店へ

キャロットタワーの２階にあるTSUTAYAが、なんと閉店だというのだ！
レンタルとDVDやCDを扱う店舗はすでに2023年で終了して、跡地がユニクロになっているが、その隣の書店までもが閉店するというのは衝撃だ。

店舗に行っていると、店の前にひっそりと看板が立っていた。

この日も結構な客の入りなのに、閉店してしまうというのは惜しすぎる。

これで三軒茶屋には（書店らしい）書店は一軒もなくなってしまう。私の若い頃と違って、今はみなネットで購入するから問題ないという声もあるが、個人的には、書店には単に本を買うという以上の付加価値があると思っているので、三茶ほどの街に書店がないというのは大きな問題だと思う。
後釜のテナントはまだ決まっていないようだが、できればどこかの大手書店がまた入ってくれないかなぁなどと思ってしまう‥。ここが無理なら、駅前の「ジョナサン」跡もまだ空いているようですよ。

Some of you may have noticed this already, as it was reported on Yahoo News, but the TSUTAYA on the second floor of Carrot Tower in Sangenjaya is set to close.
The rental, DVD, and CD section shut down in 2023 and was replaced by a UNIQLO, but the news that the adjoining bookstore will also close is truly shocking. Once TSUTAYA is gone, Sangenjaya will be left without a proper bookstore.

I can’t help hoping—perhaps unrealistically—that a major bookstore might move into the space. If not, the former Jonathan’s site near the station is still vacant.
