He announced the withdrawal of two major singers, Anna Netrepko and Joseph Calleja due to concerns about radiation.
and also announced the new tenors and soprano to join, Marcelo ?lvarez, Rolando Villaz?n, Alexey Dolgov and Marina Poplavskaya.
Peter Gelb said,
"Anything can happen in the volcanic world of opera, and with this tour it seems that our volcano has momentarily erupted,"
"While sympathetic to those artists who felt compelled to withdraw, we are particularly grateful to the stars that are rallying to our side from around the world in support of the Met and the Japanese people. Thanks to them, our show will go on."
Rolando Villaz?n will give a one-night-only performance on June 9 in the role of Edgardo in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor in Tokyo.
The performance marks the tenor's first appearance with the Met since 2009 and comes on the heels of his critically acclaimed run of performances in the title role of Werther at London's Royal Opera House at Covent Garden

Marcelo Alvarez canceled a vacation with his family in Argentina and decided to come to Japan.
He will sing last two performances as Rodolfo in La Boh?me.
