Powell explains why he will stay on Fed's Board of Governors
After officials decided to hold interest rates where they are, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell led what he announced would be his last press conference as the head of the US central bank. Powell's term will conclude on May 15. Powell went on to explain that he will stay on the Fed's Board of Governors amid the upcoming transition period, going on to emphasize the Fed's economic objectives while under constant political scrutiny. This all came after the Senate Banking Committee voted to confirm Kevin Warsh's nomination to be the next chair of the Fed.
