Investing.com -- Artivion Inc (NYSE:AORT) shares gained 4.2% Tuesday after Jefferies initiated coverage on the cardiovascular medical device maker with a Buy rating and a $31 price target, framing the company as a compelling play on aortic surgery growth. The bullish call reflects optimism surrounding Artivion's expanding product pipeline, which Wall Street expects to drive double-digit revenue expansion alongside expanding profit margins.
Jefferies analyst Michael Sarcone highlighted the upcoming U.S. adoption trajectory for key products, including the AMDS hybrid prosthesis and the Nexus endovascular stent graft. Conversations with healthcare providers indicate that product differentiation and unmet market needs should support robust domestic uptake for both devices, which carry gross-margin-accretive profiles capable of boosting earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization.
Against that backdrop, Artivion's long-term operational targets, which call for at least 10% annual top-line growth and at least 20% EBITDA growth, appear well within reach. Jefferies established revenue forecasts of $547 million for 2027 and $617 million for 2028, representing constant-currency growth of roughly 11% and 13% respectively, both sitting above consensus expectations.
Trading at approximately 12 times EBITDA, Artivion currently commands a valuation discount relative to its medical technology peers, Sarcone noted. That lower multiple provides investors with what the analyst called an "attractive entry point" ahead of major commercial catalysts, including the anticipated U.S. launch of Nexus in early 2027.
The initiation focuses on fundamental growth drivers through 2027 rather than near-term quarterly fluctuations. Ultimately, Jefferies sees the combination of pipeline momentum, margin leverage, and potential multiple expansion positioning the company for sustained outperformance over the coming years.
