  • Ethereum ETFs snapped a 10-day outflow streak with a $24.8M inflow on October 13, while Solana bled in 8 of 9 October sessions.

  • Ethereum's $15.83B fund base dwarfs Solana's $1.71B, but its biggest single buyer, BitMine, sits just $194M from its self-imposed purchase limit.

  • Solana's 9.8% weekly price drop nearly doubles Ethereum's 4.4% decline, yet a treasury company steadily buying SOL provides rare stabilizing support.

Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH) funds saw a net inflow of $24.8 million on October 13, 2026, marking their first positive session since September 28. This inflow ended a streak of 10 consecutive days of withdrawals that lasted from September 29 to October 12. However, when comparing Ethereum and Solana ETFs, only one group has shown signs of recovery.

In the same session, Solana (CRYPTO:SOL) funds lost $1.0 million and have faced outflows in eight of nine sessions so far in October. The trend in fund flows reflects cryptocurrency performance. As of October 14, Ethereum is priced at approximately $2,499, down 4.4% over the past week, while Solana is trading at around $107, down 9.8%.

So, one group of funds has ended its losing streak, while the other continues to decline. Which one is more likely to turn positive and sustain that momentum?

Fund flows refer to the movement of money into or out of an exchange-traded fund (ETF). When new money comes in, it creates shares; when money leaves, investors redeem shares. A streak of 10 negative sessions indicates that more money left Ethereum funds than entered during that time.

Despite the positive inflow, the total value of Ethereum funds still decreased on October 13 due to a drop in Ether's price that day. Currently, Ethereum funds hold $15.83 billion in assets, so the overall value can still decline even when money comes in.

The inflow amount was relatively small. Compared with the larger asset base and the $13.20 billion in total inflows since launch, the $24.8 million inflow is barely significant. While it shows that selling has paused for now, it's too soon to declare a full recovery.

Solana ETF Outflows Remain Stubborn

Solana has seen a more consistent pattern compared to Ethereum. Its funds lost money in eight of nine sessions in October, with only a single gain of $1.3 million on October 2. The consistent selling reflected in nearly daily withdrawals indicates a negative sentiment among investors.

The price movement mirrors this trend. Solana's sharp 9.8% decline over the week is more than double Ethereum's 4.4% drop, suggesting many holders are selling off their assets. There isn't enough historical data for either fund to determine how long such streaks usually last, as both are relatively new.

Ethereum Has a Larger Fund Base, but Solana Has a Steady Treasury Buyer

Ethereum's fund base is approximately nine times larger than Solana's, with $15.83 billion in net assets compared to Solana's $1.71 billion. Consequently, even a small change in sentiment can lead to larger capital movements, meaning a few returning buyers for Ethereum could quickly shift the daily flow figures.

However, Ethereum does face a challenge. BitMine, its largest single buyer, is just $194 million away from a self-imposed purchase limit. Once BitMine reaches this threshold, Ethereum will need new buyers to replace this demand.

On the other hand, Solana benefits from a steady buyer. A listed treasury company continues to add to its Solana holdings, treating it as a reserve asset. This steady support could help stabilize Solana's price even amidst ongoing fund outflows.

Which Group Will Turn Positive First: Ethereum or Solana ETFs?

We believe that Ethereum funds are more likely to achieve a streak of positive sessions first, even if one positive day isn't strong evidence. Ethereum has already bounced back once, and its larger fund base is likely to outweigh the support Solana is getting from its treasury buyer. Solana may see a turnaround eventually, but it first needs to break its current pattern of losses, which has persisted throughout nearly all of October.

Upcoming daily flow figures will be crucial to assessing this outlook. If Ethereum funds see another outflow after the recent inflow, the October 13 move may prove a temporary spike. Conversely, if Solana funds gain more than the $1.3 million recorded on October 2 while Ethereum funds turn negative again, it could indicate that Solana is turning the corner first, proving our current perspective incorrect.
