Betsson (OM:BETS B) Stock Rebounds After Q3 Earnings Margin Pressure

Betsson just posted its Q3 2026 scorecard and the headline is clear. Revenue reached a record €326.5m while net income printed at €26.3m, with the casino segment carrying the load as sportsbook margins stayed soft. Yet the stock closed at SEK99.05 after a 7.1% gain over the last week, a move that appears driven more by enthusiasm about record activity than concern about the squeeze in profitability. For investors, today is less about growth versus no growth and more about whether this margin compression still justifies that upbeat reaction.

Betsson bull case: B2C engine under real margin strain

The bullish story says Betsson's consumer arm can shoulder shocks while taxes and B2B noise play out in the background.

"Crucially, the underlying B2C engine is accelerating. Active customers are at record highs. Latin America grew +25% YoY. Italy posted all-time high revenue."

Q3 largely backs this up. B2C revenue rose 28% and made up 86% of group turnover, with Latin America up 52% and now 36% of revenue. Active customers climbed about 40% to 1.9m. The catch is quality of those earnings. Net income fell sharply and net margin compressed to 9.2% as higher gaming taxes, softer sportsbook margin and weaker B2B diluted that strong front end.

Betsson bear case: B2B drag and regulatory squeeze visible

The bear story focuses on a more permanent B2B hit and a tax mix that chips away at profitability even when activity is strong.

"The Q1 2026 EBIT margin of 11.9% ... is driven almost entirely by two factors: (1) a single B2B client reducing activity, costing ~€39M in quarterly revenue vs. prior year, and (2) higher betting duties as the proportion of locally-regulated revenue rises to 73%, a strategic deliberate shift that trades short-term margin for long-term regulatory durability."

Q3 numbers lean toward that concern. B2B revenue fell 39% and CEECA license income weakened, confirming the client issue is still live. Regulated revenue reached 78% and gross margin slipped to 56%, upholding the narrative that the tax and payment mix is eroding profitability even with record top line.

Hunt Quiet Margin Resets

Betsson shows how record activity can still leave profit margins under pressure. The real opportunity is studying stocks that may be undervalued before the market closes that gap.

  • Company 1 - 28% below our estimate - leans into high-spec power cable projects as grid upgrades and energy transition work sustain heavy order books.

  • Company 2 - 31% below our estimate - rebuilds service profitability while tackling an offshore project backlog that embeds contracted turbine work for years.

  • Company 3 - 36% below our estimate - ramps high-horsepower engine capacity so new data center power contracts progress from announcements into installed hardware.

Those are three of them. See the full list of 192 companies trading below our fair value estimates →
