Dassault Systèmes walked into its Q3 2026 report with the stock at €23.58 and three month returns of about 16.7%. The price suggested investors were already leaning optimistic. The results gave them more to consider. Management posted quarterly revenue of €1,551.9m and basic earnings per share of €0.22, while the trailing P/E of 23.3x still sat below both European software peers and the wider sector.
The real story depends on the time horizon you pick. Short term traders react to the latest print. Long term holders are weighing a richer profit margin profile against a valuation that some data suggests is not stretched.
Love Dassault Systèmes' profit profile but unsure how its 23.3x P/E stacks up against genuinely mispriced opportunities in the same style? Scan our 191 high quality undervalued stocks for ideas that pair quality fundamentals with valuations some investors may find more forgiving.

Earnings tell one story, but investors who care about valuation often put more weight on the cash that actually comes through the door. Based on Dassault Systèmes' cash flows alone, the stock could be a narrow 13% undervalued .
Dassault Systèmes bull case: subscriptions and AI at work
The optimistic view hinges on AI agents and cloud subscriptions turning into a wider, higher quality recurring base for Dassault Systèmes.
"Expansion of the 3DEXPERIENCE agentic platform with Virtual Companions such as AURA, LEO and MARIE, along with new Virtual Twin Factory capabilities and industrial world models, is expected to deepen usage in engineering, manufacturing and science workflows and can support higher subscription software revenue and operating margins as customers deploy these AI native tools at scale."
Q3 shows real movement toward that aim. 3DEXPERIENCE revenue rose 25% and 3DEXPERIENCE Cloud is growing 46% year to date. Subscription now contributes about half of recurring revenue, while operating margin reached 31.6% and management lifted both full year margin and EPS guidance.
Dassault Systèmes bear case: life sciences execution still on trial
The bear worry is that Life Sciences and clinical tech never fully convert into the broad, resilient engine the story implies.
"Ongoing flat performance and continued weakness in MEDIDATA, with Life Sciences revenue still affected by prior low booking volumes and MEDIDATA revenue in Q2 2026 described as impacted and clinical trial starts remaining volatile, could prevent this business from returning to a stronger growth path and reduce the contribution that Life Sciences makes to Dassault Systèmes' total revenue and earnings."
MEDIDATA was flat again in Q3, so earlier softness has not yet cleared. Management closed ArisGlobal only late in the quarter and says ArisGlobal revenue was immaterial. Guidance implies confidence in Q4 Life Sciences, but hard proof of a turnround is still pending.
