IRadimed (IRMD) Stock Drops After Q3 Earnings Fail To Clear High Bar

Trade IRMD on Coinbase

IRADIMED came into this earnings season priced for excellence, trading on a rich P/E and riding years of steady profit expansion. Then Q3 2026 hit and the stock dropped about 11% in a single session. That sharp move jars with what the report actually showed. Revenue reached a record US$24.2 million and basic earnings per share landed at roughly US$0.51. The real story is not a collapse in performance; it is a strong top line and solid profitability colliding with investor expectations that were already set very high.

IRADIMED bullish narrative meets real execution markers

Treatment of IRADIMED as a replacement cycle machine depends on more than hype. It rests on whether new hardware and recurring add ons are actually scaling.

"The introduction and FDA approval of the new 3870 MRI compatible IV pump, with significantly enhanced usability and technology over the legacy product, is expected to catalyze a major replacement cycle among hospitals and imaging centers."

Record Q3 revenue, record 3870 pump and 3880 monitor bookings, plus over 400 3870 systems produced, show that this refresh is happening in the field. Mix helps too. Quad channel systems and higher average selling prices, along with 21% disposables growth and faster maintenance and service revenue, point to early progress on the longer haul recurring goals.

IRADIMED bear case on margin strain and expectations

The worry is not whether IRADIMED can sell pumps. It is whether that volume arrives without eroding profitability or exposing how tightly expectations are set.

"The initial 3870 production ramp has already led to a lower gross margin compared with a year earlier because of higher manufacturing costs and inefficiencies, and if the effort to restore past manufacturing efficiency takes longer than management expects, Iradimed could face sustained pressure on gross margin and net income even if top line growth remains intact."

Gross margin improved by about 2 percentage points sequentially to roughly 76% as 3870 volumes scaled, and management flags a path back toward historical 77% to 78%. That is a partial rebuttal. Yet the tightened full year EPS range, with the top end trimmed, and a share price that fell about 11% after Q3, show how sensitive the stock remains to any hint that production discipline may cap near term upside.
