Markets are opening the week on a shaky footing as geopolitical tensions flare up, but if you look closer, individual stocks are moving sharply on their own stories.

On the upside, the action is pretty hard to miss. Compass Pathways ( NASDAQ:CMPS ) jumped 34%, leading a strong rally across psychedelic names after a new policy push aimed at speeding up PTSD treatment research. Stocks like Atai ( NASDAQ:ATAI ) and GH Research ( NASDAQ:GHRS ) also posted solid double digit gains, as investors started to see a clearer path toward approvals between 2027 and 2030. In deal-driven moves, TopBuild ( NYSE:BLD ) climbed 16% after agreeing to a ~$17 billion cash and stock takeover by QXO, while USA Rare Earth ( NASDAQ:USAR ) rose 14% on a ~$300 million acquisition tied to a major Brazil asset. Nektar ( NASDAQ:NKTR ) added 17% after reporting Phase 2b data showing 26% to 28% response rates versus about 7% for placebo.

On the flip side, Sidus Space ( NASDAQ:SIDU ) fell 18% after announcing a $58.5 million share sale, which raised dilution concerns. Fermi ( NASDAQ:FRMI ) dropped 13% amid leadership changes, while AST SpaceMobile ( NASDAQ:ASTS ) slid 8% after a satellite launch issue. Eli Lilly ( NYSE:LLY ) also edged 2% lower following a deal worth up to $7 billion.
