Mycronic just posted its Q3 2026 scorecard and the figures tell a sharper story than the share price suggests. The stock closed yesterday at SEK301.2 after drifting about 11% lower over the past month, as if the run was losing steam.
The quarter delivered a combination that many semiconductor equipment groups would likely view as strong. Net sales reached SEK2,356m and net income landed at SEK471m, resulting in a trailing twelve month P/E of 29.6x on what is described as high quality earnings. Today's move appears more like an emotional cool down than a verdict on weak fundamentals.

Earnings give you one snapshot of Mycronic, but investors who care about what they are paying for usually follow the cash moving through the business. When you look at Mycronic's cash flows on their own, the stock could be a clear 20% undervalued .
Mycronic's back end push clears early hurdles
The bullish story hangs on Mycronic turning its semiconductor back end expansion and product launches into a broader earnings engine.
"Expansion along the semiconductor back end and advanced packaging chain, supported by acquisitions such as Cowin, Surfx, Vanguard and Hprobe and a focus on MRAM test and plasma cleaning, positions Mycronic to add new equipment lines that can support revenue and earnings power over time."
Q3 shows this direction working. Global Technologies delivered very high EBIT margins, with AI infrastructure and advanced packaging as clear demand drivers. Pattern Generators added SLX Kite and IQX, with first IQX shipments imminent and a fresh SLX order to a US customer extending mask writer visibility.
Margin mix fears not borne out this quarter
The bear case argues that mix shift and weaker units could erode profitability even if demand looks healthy.
"New Pattern Generators segments such as inspection, repair and wafer level packaging are expected to carry lower profitability than legacy mask writers. If these product lines become a larger share of Mycronic's mix without sufficient cost efficiency gains, then division margins could trend down and weigh on group EBIT and earnings."
Latest figures point the other way for now. Pattern Generators still delivered a 32% EBIT margin despite acquisition drag. Group gross margin reached 52% and EBIT margin was 26%. PCB Assembly Solutions already sits above its 10% margin ambition while its SEK 100m cost program progresses.

Hunt Quiet Mispricings Before They Close
Mycronic illustrates how a share price can cool even when reported earnings remain steady. The real opportunity is seeking stocks that could be undervalued before sentiment or market attention changes.
-
Company 1 - 21% below our estimate - converts a concentrated housing land bank into financed residential projects supported by a long-running government-backed mortgage program.
-
Company 2 - 39% below our estimate - shifts its hospital equipment portfolio toward recurring consumables and infection control tools embedded in everyday critical-care workflows.
-
Company 3 - 35% below our estimate - tightens operations so higher-margin aftermarket services and nuclear-related valve projects take a larger share of profit.
Those are three of them. See the full list of 193 companies trading below our fair value estimates →
