Riversgold Limited ( Riversgold Ltd (ASX:RGL, OTC:RVSGF) ) has cleared a major hurdle at its Northern Zone Gold Project near Kalgoorlie after reaching an agreement to remove the remaining objections to two haul-road licences, paving the way for the applications to proceed to grant.
The agreement allows Miscellaneous Licences L25/75 and L25/77 to proceed toward grant, providing the tenure needed for site access and an ore haulage corridor connecting Northern Zone with gazetted roads, highways and third-party processing facilities in the Kalgoorlie region.
Riversgold remains on track to submit its Mine Development and Closure Proposal (MDCP) to the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration later this month.
Removes key haulage impediment
Mining Lease M25/389 covers the planned Northern Zone pit but does not extend to infrastructure outside the lease boundary.
Once granted, L25/75 and L25/77 will provide tenure for the haul-road corridor linking the project to the broader road network and, ultimately, nearby third-party processing facilities.
With all objections now resolved, both licence applications can proceed to a Warden's recommendation and formal grant.
Riversgold described the resolution as removing the last regulatory impediment specifically to physically hauling ore from Northern Zone, although several project approvals remain outstanding before mining can begin.
Riversgold technical director Ed Mead said: "Reaching agreement to remove the Project's last objections is a key outcome.
"Once granted, the licences will create an ore haulage corridor to main roads that lead to third-party processing facilities in the area."
Final approvals taking shape
Riversgold recently lodged an application for a Native Vegetation Clearing Permit with the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation.
Grant of the two haul-road licences, approval of the vegetation clearing permit and approval of the MDCP are the key remaining approvals required before mining can commence.
The company is working with Resources WA and development and funding partner Mega Resources to finalise the MDCP.

Northern Zone is planned as an open pit operation and is 80% owned by Riversgold and 20% by Oracle Power PLC (AIM:ORCP) . Development is expected to be fully funded by Mega Resources under a 50/50 Mining and Co-operation Agreement struck in September 2025.
Mining Lease M25/389 was granted in July 2026 for a 21-year term running to July 2047 and is renewable.
The project sits about 25 kilometres east of Kalgoorlie, with the location map on page 2 showing Northern Zone in relation to major regional gold operations including the Golden Mile/Fimiston area.
