The $620 million sale of an iconic breakfast chain has been finalized.
In a statement issued by the company on Jan. 16, Denny's announced that it has transitioned into a privately owned company after being acquired by a group of investors including TriArtisan Capital Advisors, Treville Capital Group and Yadav Enterprises, Inc.
The deal was first announced in November 2025 . As part of the deal, Denny's stockholders received $6.25 per share in cash for each common stock they own.
"Our dedication to supporting franchisees and commitment to serving our guests remain the same. We are grateful for the hard work of our employees and franchisees who represent our restaurants with pride every day," Chief Executive Officer of Denny's Corporation, Kelli Valade said in a statement. "With the support of our new owners, we look forward to continuing to serve and delight guests across the nation."
The finalized deal comes after Denny's faced plummeting sales during the COVID-19 pandemic and shifting customer habits, including increased reliance on delivery.
Denny's also recently completed a plan to close 150 locations nationwide by early 2026 , according to MLive .
Denny's did not immediately respond to MassLive's inquiries regarding its closure plans.
As of September 24, 2025, the company consists of 1,537 restaurants, 1,452 of which were franchised and licensed restaurants and 85 of which were company operated.
Denny's has four locations in Massachusetts: Attleboro, Fall River, Holyoke and Leominster.
