‘Tis the season for taxes!
PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) — It's that time of the year again, and no, we aren't referring to Christmas – it's tax season.

Soon employers will be sending out W-2's, people will be collecting 1099's, and businesses will be itemizing their expenses in preparation for heading down to their local tax office.
Hollifield & Associates in Princeton is already feeling the tax time pressure.
Owner and Certified Public Accountant Jeffery Hollifield said you can make your trip to the tax office easier by doing a few simple things.
"When somebody comes to see me for the first time, I generally wanna see the prior year tax return. Then I want to know whether they're married, filing joint. I would have to know the social security number, date of birth for both spouses," said Hollifield.
Hollifield said he then would need to know about any dependents claimed, itemized reductions such as charitable donations or childcare credits, and if there is a business involved.
Hollifield said to make sure that all paperwork is organized and ready to go before you step into your tax office.
He also said to get it done quick because appointments will start filling up fast.
