Cascade Copper eyes phase two drilling at Centerfire and advances Copper Plateau plans

Cascade Copper CEO Jeff Ackert joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss recent drilling results at the company's Centerfire project in Ontario, plans for a second phase of exploration and preparations for drilling at the Copper Plateau project in British Columbia.

Ackert explained that Cascade Copper is focused exclusively on copper exploration in Canada, with a portfolio of projects at various stages of development. The company's strategy centres on acquiring properties with historical exploration data that can help guide new programs, refine geological models and accelerate exploration.

At Centerfire, located between Dryden and Sioux Lookout in Ontario, Cascade Copper recently completed a drilling program following preliminary geophysical surveys, ground investigations and surface sampling.Ackert said the drilling returned encouraging copper results, along with gold, silver and other trace elements. The findings are helping the company improve its understanding of the mineralization and develop a revised geological model to guide future exploration.

The company is now evaluating a second phase of drilling at Centerfire, with an initial focus on extending known mineralization along strike and testing deeper targets. Ackert noted that indications of potentially repeated mineralized sequences beneath the surface could point to additional exploration opportunities, although further drilling will be needed to verify the updated geological interpretation.

With approximately 10 kilometres of strike length across the property, Cascade Copper sees considerable scope for additional exploration as it works to establish the extent and continuity of the mineralization.Beyond Ontario, the company is preparing for a drilling program at Copper Plateau in British Columbia, subject to permitting. Ackert said a financing was nearing completion and would help support the company's planned exploration activities heading into 2027.

Cascade Copper also intends to undertake additional geophysical and geochemical work across other projects in its portfolio. For now, Centerfire and Copper Plateau remain the company's primary exploration priorities as it works to advance its Canadian copper assets and identify further opportunities for discovery.

Like I said, we put uh we put some drilling in there. came up with some excellent numbers, uh copper, but not just copper, we also got gold, silver and

00:15 Steve

Hey, welcome back inside our Proactive news room and joining me now is Jeff Ackert. He is the CEO of Cascade Copper and Jeff, it's good to see you. How are you?

00:26 Jeff Ackert

I'm very well. Thanks, Steve. nice to be here. Thank you.

00:32 Steve

Yeah, good to have you alongside. I know you've had some recent news out about one of your properties, and we'll talk about that in just a second, but you do have a number of them. so give me a bit of background on the company.

00:44 Jeff Ackert

Yeah, so cascade Copper is basically, um, focused entirely on copper exploration in Canada. Uh, we started the company with that in mind about three years ago and sort of been building a few extra assets into it from our IPO. Um but again, just focused on copper, high quality copper exploration. Um what we'd like to see in some of these projects is uh some historic data so that we can compile that, um get on the ground running when we're uh when we're ready to go. So and that's been our sort of MO uh going forward. So um it's been successful.

01:21 Steve

Yeah, I mentioned you have a number of projects. Do you do you sort of are are some ahead of others or where where are they all mostly at?

01:29 Jeff Ackert

Yeah, each one of them is sort of at a different evolution in the exploration uh lifespan. So uh the ones like Centerfire and Ontario, uh copper plateau in British Columbia, we brought them up to the the drill ready stage basically and and we've just finished a drilling program at Centerfire in Ontario. Uh so the next step will be to get into um into BC at copper plateau and get drilling on that.

02:01 Steve

Let's talk a little bit about Centerfire because you've had some recent news there as you mentioned because you were drilling there. So, um tell me a bit about the project, tell me about the drilling and and and what you're seeing so far.

02:14 Jeff Ackert

Sure, the uh the property's located between Dryden and Sulookout and and it's the called the Wagoon belt. Um it's quite active right now. There's a lot of companies working in that area including Next Gold, um Dryden Gold, Kenorland, um and they're all looking for gold and and sort of critical metals in that area. So we identified a really nice looking um copper area that originally we thought it was maybe BMS, so volcanogenic massive sulfide style. but um, what we ended up doing is is a lot of preliminary geophysics, ground truth, uh surface sampling, that kind of thing and had a really good uh feeling for where the targets would be. So like you said, we put uh we put some drilling in there, came up with some excellent numbers, uh copper, but not just copper, we also got gold, silver and and some other sort of trace elements that are giving us a a better idea of what kind of model we want to look at uh for extending that uh that program. So, um not quite VMS anymore, but still significant numbers that allow us to continue with some drilling and that's what we like to do uh very soon.

03:22 Steve

Yeah, you got a phase two program that you're hoping to get to. Are you following along sort of the the the way you've gone already or you looking at at other areas to look at? What's sort of the plan for that phase two?

03:35 Jeff Ackert

Yeah, I think this plan will be uh initially to expand what we've known. Uh in other words, where we've drilled, we're going to go a little bit of long strike either way and then uh try to hit it at depth as well because we're seeing some indication of maybe um uh repeated sequences uh beneath the surface. But um with this new model that we've uh come up with, uh certainly we need to do some ground truthing and and verify that model. So we'll we'll continue to step out. We've got 10 kilometers of strike length there. So lots of opportunity to um uh not only do more work, but also make new discoveries.

04:29 Steve

Okay. Just wrapping up here, Jeff, talk to me a bit about the rest of this year and into 2027. What's sort of the priorities that you have?

04:39 Jeff Ackert

Yeah, so phase two drilling at Centerfire certainly. Um we do have a a financing that's uh almost closed. Uh I'm sure we'll close it very quickly. Um that will allow us to get into 2027 with as I mentioned some drilling uh at uh copper plateau uh when we get our permitting done there. But like that like I said, the other the other projects all all will get a little bit of um work done as well. Geophysics, geochemistry, that kind of thing. So, news from pretty well all the projects with a focus on on Centerfire and copper plateau.

05:22 Steve

All right, it's going to be a busy one for sure. Jeff, thanks so much. Uh good update and good to see you as well.

05:28 Jeff Ackert

Thanks, Steve. Take care.

05:30 Steve

All right, there's Jeff Ackert, he is the CEO of Cascade Copper.
