Ross Gerber and the Market Hang panel take a look at bitcoin and whether the bottom is in.
Today's panel includes Gerber Kawasaki Wealth & Investment Management CEO Ross Gerber, The Housing Frame Founder Conor Sen, Lyn Alden Investment Strategy Founder Lyn Alden, and Financial Advisor & YouTuber "Meet Kevin," Kevin Paffrath.
So, what do you think, Lynn? Are are is Bitcoin going to 150,000 if the war ends? Or if it doesn't?
I I I don't think it's going to go to 150,000 within the next year would be my guess. I I think it'll get there eventually. Uh I I would generally separate Bitcoin from the rest of crypto. Uh I think most of crypto's problem is that there's no there there. Like just they it kind of they they've ran through all the narratives of, you know, alternative Bitcoins, of Dfy, of NFTs, of meme coins.
Right ETFs.
Uh Yeah. Yeah, they they they've run through this the whole gamut. They're kind of out of narratives now. Uh and you know, a lot of that was kind of a zero rate phenomenon. Uh and so I think that that that whole industry is kind of just gradually melting and it kind of leaves what what's left, which I think is I I I do think Bitcoin is still structurally interesting. I think stable coins are still structurally interesting. Uh you know, real, you know, tokenized real world assets are interesting. So I think the part of the problem is there's this big melting overhang uh still that this is probably just going to unfold for a while, the great stagnation in crypto. Uh obviously all the rates stagnation
AI. Um and which I think is rational. Uh and you know, what what what could be a catalyst for Bitcoin? One is I think I mean we're just kind of talking about the quarry this year. I think that once AI gets kind of saturated uh and starts to, you know, more consistently put in some bad numbers, I think some capital can go back into Bitcoin uh as kind of a volatile uh trade uh to to to entertain. Uh and sometimes it's just things stop going down because all the fast money's out. Like I think basically uh just the interest in the space is super low that the money that's going to leave has already left. Uh and there's a small amount of incoming uh uh capital to kind of push prices up.
Are you a buyer Lynn? Are you buying Bitcoin?
Should we buy Bitcoin? Are you buying Bitcoin?
Uh I'm bullish with like a three-year view. I I you know, I I I think it still probably chops around for the next six months or so. I mean, maybe it does come down to what happens in Iran. I mean, I'm with you that I'm not I'm not very optimistic on the Iranian peace situation.
What, the 5,000 year war that's still going on?
number of assets. But I I think we probably chop around for months still in Bitcoin. I think the bottom's in would be would be my guess. I think, you know, we're we're well off the bottom. I think that that bottom's probably in, but I think it's more about how long does it take to start the next true bull run. My guess would be, you know, in the years ahead, I think we do see another bull run. Um and I would separate that from most.
Well, we have a halving. The halving, in my mind has to create, you know, a higher price because you're you have less Bitcoin being printed, you know. And that's in two years, I think. And so, I think if you have a three-year view, I think you're right. Maybe, you know, it'll do well. But I I don't what you're saying to me is you're not buying it right now.
