Rondout Lighthouse

This light is a beautiful Hudson River landmark that seeks a visit or a paddle-by. A feature on the National Register of Historic Places, it gets its official name from its location. Rondout emerged as a bustling privately-funded canal after the completion of the 108-mile (173-kilometer) long Delaware and Hudson Canal. The historic lighthouse can be reached by boat tours from the Hudson River Maritime Museum. The trip indeed becomes a memory with drinks and dinner served at the lighthouse.

Rondout-West Strand Historic District

The Rondout-West Strand Historic District is a historic neighborhood located in Kingston, New York. Built around 1828, most of the district is situated along the harbor of the Rondout Creek and most of the buildings feature 19th Century architecture. Now a popular tourist hub with a number of commercial establishments, the site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Kirkland Hotel

In the late 19th Century, the Tudor-style Kirkland Hotel was built in Kingston. Its architecture is unique for an urban inn, and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A former 1970s restaurant, it faced closure and refurbishment efforts got halted for quite a few decades. In 2002, the Kirkland Hotel building received State Historic designation as a landmark structure subsequent to its redevelopment phase.

Senate House State Historic Site

To recount the events during the Revolutionary War visit the Senate House State Historic Site and discover the aftermath of the war. Built in the year 1676 in Dutch Colonial style of architecture, the structure was first resided by European immigrant Wessel Wesselse Ten Broeck from New Amsterdam. However, the house and much of the town was burnt during the war. It was only in the 19th Century it was converted into a museum, listed on the U.S National Register of Historic Places and is now under the ownership of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. Old Dutch Church

The First Reformed Protestant Dutch Church of Kingston is also noted as the Old Dutch Church. It is situated at the Walls Street in the Kingston region of New York. The construction of the church was completed in 1852 and it is a great example of the Renaissance Revival style of architecture. The site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
