Bath & Body Works launches 'juicy new body care' with Hilary Duff

"Hey now! This is what dreams are made of."
Bath & Body Works is getting fruity this summer and launching a new range of "juicy new body care" and fragrances with Hilary Duff on board as brand ambassador and creative partner.
The new collection , spanning body care and fragrance, is focused on "fruit-forward fragrance and real, lasting hydration" and serves as an example of the brand's "Consumer First Formula," which places the customer at the core, according to a news release.
"Fruit Fusion was built around irresistible fruit-forward scents," Veronique Gabai-Pinsky, Bath & Body Works chief brand & product officer, told USA TODAY. "The fragrances are bright, layerable, and designed to be worn together. Each one is distinct but built to complement the others."
Gabai-Pinsky added the formulas behind the products "are equally intentional." For example, the body wash "is built around coco shea complex, two active ingredients that work together for all-day moisture," while the "lotion pairs shea butter and coconut oil for 48-hour moisture."

Hilary Duff is the 'perfect fit'
The brand tapped in Duff, a "longtime Bath & Body Works fan," according to Bath & Body Works, to serve as a creative partner in bringing the collection to life.
Gabai-Pinsky said with her confidence, energy and "beloved" star status, Duff is "the perfect fit for this new franchise."
"She embodies exactly what we stand for: feeling good, joy, authenticity, confidence and showing up as your best self," Gabai-Pinsky said. "She was involved in shaping the campaign creative, and you can feel that. It reflects who she really is right now: enjoying the moment, being grounded, strong, confident, and real."
Duff's picks from the collection include the Tangerine Twirl Moisturizing Body Lotion as part of her moisturizing routine, layered with the Banana Blend Perfume Mist for Body & Hair, according to Gabai-Pinsky.
Gabai-Pinsky added Duff reaches for the Banana Blend Lip Oil "on stage and throughout the day" for quick reapplication.
Duff, in an emailed statement to USA TODAY, said she wants "women to feel joyful and confident and completely like themselves."
"When you find a scent that lights you up, it shifts something. You just feel like your best self," the star said. "Fruit Fusion is so bright and playful and fun, and I hope it gives women that spark."
Duff's collaboration with the brand comes hot off the release of her new album "Luck… or something" and as she returns to touring for the first time in 18 years.
Bath & Body Works Fruit Fusion flavors
Bath & Body Works Fruit Fusion features "four vibrant, fruit-forward scents," including:
-
Watermelon Whirl : sugared watermelon, fresh juice, soft musk
-
Tangerine Twirl : bright tangerine, juicy citrus, solar burst
-
Berry Bliss : sweet berry, tart pomegranate, sheer woods
-
Banana Blend : whipped banana, smooth vanilla, radiant amber
Gabai-Pinsky said each scent in the collection "started with a real, personal memory from the perfumer who created it."
"We partnered with some of the most prestigious fragrance houses in the world, and what started as something simple, a delicious fruit, became something layered, expressive, and unexpected," Gabai-Pinsky said.
For example, Tangerine Twirl "came from a perfumer's memory of peeling a tangerine on a beach in Brazil — salt in the air, sun on her skin," while Banana Blend came from a childhood memory of drinking banana smoothies.
Berry Bliss was "built around the feeling of biting into sun-ripened fruit," and Watermelon Whirl was developed using a technique called "headspace" to capture the scent of a living fruit exactly as it smells in nature, Gabai-Pinsky explained.
